TaoVella: Reviving Millennia-Old Crafts in the Digital Age
In the relentless flow of time, China boasts over 3,000 nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage (ICH) crafts, yet more than 60% of these traditional handicrafts face the risk of fading due to a lack of successors. From Jingdezhen’s kintsugi artisans mending broken porcelain with golden seams to Xinjiang’s embroidery masters weaving ethnic memories with needle and thread, these crafts, imbued with Eastern wisdom, are quietly eroding under the tide of industrialization. We believe every handmade artifact is a living gene bank of civilization, deserving to be seen by the world.
Your Contribution to Preservation:
- Purchase for Protection: 1% of every product sale is donated to a公益 fund to support traditional artisans.
- Spread and Sustain: We share the stories and works of discovered artisans on social media to raise awareness.
- Co-Create for Renewal: We plan to sponsor 100 artisans to co-create products, sharing them with our users and lovers of traditional crafts worldwide.
-
Reward and Share: When artisans’ products are crafted, we will select 100 users to receive these creations for free, spreading the beauty of their artistry
Our Vision for the Future:
When Silicon Valley tech enthusiasts collect the crackled glaze of Ru kiln porcelain, and Paris boutiques display deconstructed Suzhou embroidery handbags, traditional crafts will no longer be museum relics but a universal aesthetic code bridging East and West. As a kintsugi artisan once said, “Broken but not discarded is the modern annotation of Eastern philosophy.” Let us together witness the rebirth of ancient crafts in the digital era.
